Dear James and Melissa,

Happy New Year! I just wanted to say that I have been an admirer of you two ever since I went to live in New Orleans as Teach For America teacher in 2009. Melissa spoke along with Tavis Smiley at a Freedom Schools event in Knoxville, TN that I was very proud to have seen and been a part of. Congratulations on her new MSNBC show as well. This posting was very alerting to me. It is still crazy to me that gun violence is so much a part of New Orleans, and yet so disregarded. I remember my first week in New Orleans hearing of a teacher who had been shot at a football game. I am inspired when I hear you and Melissa bring these and other silenced issues to light. New Orleans is in my thoughts and prayers.

I have loved to visit your city but after katrenia I haven't visited. I feel safer in my city Atlanta. I am sorry you lost election. If Ray and you are outspoken it appears the powers to be try to shut you down. I don't know answer. You and wife in my prayers keep society honest.

Great piece on the Michelle Bachmann/Michelle Obama comparison. I can appreciate the perspective and enjoyed the insight. It's nice to have a fresh face bring new viewpoints to the table every now and then.

Congratulations, your energy is contagious. You both are wonderful role models and a refreshing change for us senior activists who were concerned about a vacuum in leadership in our community and country. You both have given many of us hope and confidence that our future is in good hands. Thank you.

hello ,
My name is daniel and I own <a href="http://tsnchat.com" rel="nofollow">nigerian forum</a>
I'm an ardent reader of your posts and not just to leave leave without writing a comment this time around, I love the informations you share through this post especially where you wrote " While it would be preferable that Parish officials allow the development to go forward for reasons rooted in a commitment to equity, a decision to allow the development because of the mounting pressures against the Parish is surely acceptable. It has been reported that HUD has threatened to yank $91 million in funding if the Parish refuses to put an end to its racially discriminatory policies. "
Keep it up friend.
